Scholarships Keio Academy of New York offers the following scholarships to our students. Aratani Foundation Nikkei-Jin Scholarship (For New Students)With 20 years of experience in bilingual and bicultural education and in support of our mission, Keio Academy of New York is proud to announce the ARATANI FOUNDATION NIKKEI-JIN SCHOLARSHIP for September 2013 Entrance. Two scholars entered in September 2009 as the first students for this program.This scholarship was made possible through the generous contribution of the late Mr. George Aratani, a Japanese-American businessman and philanthropist, through the Aratani Foundation, with a view to encourage Nikkei-jin to expand their opportunities to study at Keio Academy of New York. Successful applicants will be admitted to Keio Academy of New York as 9th or 10th graders with the following scholarship:(1) The first year entrance examination fee, admissions fee and full tuition will be waived.(2) If a student’s grades and behavior remain satisfactory, he/she may apply for a half tuition waiver for the second year.

(3) After the second year, the student may apply to our regular scholarship program.

Kuraoka-Ashikari – Aoki Scholarship (For Current Students)

At the Cherry Blossom Celebration in spring 2008, the life time scholarship, “Kuraoka-Ashikari -Aoki Scholarship” was launched by three Keio University Alumni known to be very successful Japanese entrepreneurs in USA: Mr. Nobuyoshi Kuraoka, Dr. Roy Ashikari and the late Mr. Rocky Aoki.

Dr. Ashikari is the world-famous authority in breast cancer research and he is a director of Ashikari Breast Center at St. John’s Riverside Hospital, Dobbs Ferry New York.  He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Keio Academy of New York.  Mr. Kuraoka is a well known restauranteur who started one of the first Japanese restaurants in New York City, Restaurant Nippon in 1963.  He is the recipient of the “Minister’s Award of Overseas Promotion of Japanese Food” from the Japanese Minister of Agriculture in 2006. Recently he was honored by the Japanese Government “The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette” for his outstanding contributions of promoting authentic Japanese cuisine to the United States.

The “Kuraoka-Ashikari -Aoki Scholarship” hopes to contribute to the students of Keio Academy of New York by offering academic opportunities that were once not available.

Eligibility: Freshman (New 9th and 10th grader)

Candidates: Three

Amount:  Max US$10,000 per individual

Qualification:Students in need of financial assistance who are academically diligent and with good character.

Eligibility: Starting 2nd year

Candidates: vary

Qualification:Students in need of financial assistance who are academically diligent and with good character.

The Scholarship of Tuition Exemption Program (For Applicants)

This scholarship helps those who excel in academics when applying to Keio Academy of New York.

Application Period: Same as each school application period
