Girls Basketball - Varsity
The Girl’s varsity basketball team competes in Section One, Conference III. The players continue to improve their skills on and off the court as the new season approaches.
Charles Martinez has returned for a second year to coach the girl’s varsity basketball team. During the 2016-2017 season, the team entered a tougher class, but was still able to overcome the competition and make it to the playoffs. This year is no exception for the team to make an appearance.
About the Coach: Coach Martinez has worked with the NYC Board of Education for 27 years and has been coaching for roughly 15 years. Martinez has an extensive coaching history in working with different sport teams with various schools. Within the last two years, as an assistant coach, he won a football championship with Hackley HS; as a head coach, led the Rye County Day softball team to the state semi-finals; and as an assistant coach led the Trevor Day softball team to the League Title.
Coach Martinez plans on bringing the same success to Keio Academy of New York.
