Report on US College Tour (Washington DC)

During the 2017 US College Tour (Washington DC) 28 10th and 11th graders visited the following locations:
The students visited and observed university life and classes at:
1. Johns Hopkins University
2. Georgetown University
3. American University
The students visited:
1. The Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, also called the Udvar-Hazy Center, is the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum's annex at Washington Dulles International Airport in the Chantilly area of Fairfax County, Virginia.
2. The Smithsonian National Museum of American History
3. The Capitol Building
4. The White House
5. The Lincoln Memorial. The Lincoln Memorial is an American national monument built to honor the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln. It is located on the western end of the National Mall in Washington, D.C., across from the Washington Monument.
SCHEDULE: April 10, 2017
6:30 AM: Leave Keio for the Baltimore, Maryland, and Washington DC Trip
11:00 - 12:30 PM. Students visited Johns Hopkins University. The visit was self-guided, information about the university was provided by Dr. Lane and Ms. Sakamoto. Students were able to have an overview of the university.
2:00 - 3: 00 PM Keio students and faculty visited The Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center. At the Center students saw the Enola Gay B-29 Superfortress bomber, which On 6 August 1945, dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima. Ms. Sakamoto showed the aircraft to the students and explained the historical significance of the aircraft to the students.
4:30-5:30 PM. Visit to the Smithsonian National Museum of American History. 
5:30: Check in to the Holiday Inn in Washington DC. 
6:30: Group dinner at the hotel.
10:30 PM. All students in their hotel rooms

7:00 Breakfast at hotel
8 AM Hotel check out
8:00 - 10:15: Visit to see the Capitol Building, The White House, and the Lincoln Memorial.
9:30 - 10:30. Visit to Georgetown University 
The Georgetown visit focused on the academic programs offered at Georgetown University. One of the four Georgetown students who spoke at the meeting was an exchange student from Keio University who is currently studying at Georgetown.
11:45-3 PM Visit to American University
The visit focused on the academic programs, with a focus on the Internship/Mentorship program offered at American University. 
American University faculty and staff conducted the University information session and a lecture.  They gave an in-depth information session on the Internship/Mentorship program. American University faculty and students participated in the session.
3 PM:  Leave for Keio Academy
8 PM: Arrive at Keio
