Our Students Attended UN Tsunami Awareness Day Symposium and Discussion Session
Posted 11/07/2018 01:51PM
On Monday November 5, 7 students were invited to observe  United Nations Tsunami Awareness Day Symposium. Usually this kind of symposium is not open to public but our students along with students from United Nations International School were invited to observe this session. It was very inspiring for the student to  listen-in on people who are in the front-line of international diplomacy and policy implementation.
Following the symposium the students took a "central role" when they attend a discussion session. They students were able to ask questions directly to those who spoke at the symposium.  Such as Ms. Mami Mizutori , Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Disaster Risk Reduction, Mr. Futoshi Toba, Mayor of City of Rikuzentakata. It was a great learning experience for those who attended.
Many Japanese Media including NHK, Sankei-shimbun and Tokyo-shimbun reported on the event
