With the holiday season in full swing, the academy sponsored a trip to Lincoln Center in Manhattan to see George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker. The traditional holiday story is about a young girl who witnesses her nutcracker come to life to battle the evil mouse king. With a magical story full of spectacular music, ballet, costumes, and visuals, the students were amazed by the performances of the actors and actresses. The students embraced their surroundings as they not only enjoyed the show but also purchased many souvenirs to mark the occasion. By the end of the performance, it was clear that the famous Lincoln Theater was the perfect setting for this traditional New York City holiday event that has thrilled and entertained so many people over multiple generations.
