TEACHER OF CHEMISTRY/PHYSICAL SCIENCE

POSITION: FULL-TIME SCIENCE TEACHER (CHEMISTRY/PHYSICAL SCIENCE)

Candidate will teach two sections of 10th grade chemistry and will help to develop and teach two sections of a new 9th grade science skills class with a focus on physical science. In addition, candidate will become an active member of the department, working to further develop and expand the current science curriculum.

The School has a boarding community of 300 students. All teachers are expected to contribute to the wider academic, boarding and co-curricular program.

QUALIFICATIONS: Certified high school chemistry teacher strongly desired. Uncertified candidates with a Master’s Degree will also be considered. Experience in teaching ESL students is preferred, but not required. Strong teamwork skills and flexibility are strongly desired.

STARTING DATE: September 1, 2020 (preparation may start from the late August)

COMPENSATION: Salary commensurate with education and experience. Benefits Package (including health insurance and 403B pension plan).

TEACHER OF COMPUTER SCIENCE

POSITION: FULL-TIME COMPUTER SCIENCE TEACHER

Candidate will teach four sections of a half year 10th grade computer literacy course (two sections per semester) as well as support the technology needs of the faculty/staff. In addition, candidate will become an active member of the department, working to further develop an engaging and challenging computer science curriculum at our school.

The School has a boarding community of 300 students. All teachers are expected to contribute to the wider academic, boarding and co-curricular program.

QUALIFICATIONS: A degree in a computer related field is required, with strong experience with a variety of programming languages. Familiarity with online teaching platforms and other teaching related technology strongly desired. Experience teaching, especially with ESL students is preferred, but not required. Strong teamwork skills and flexibility are strongly desired.

POSITION: FULL-TIME ESL/ENL TEACHER

Keio Academy of New York, a private, bilingual Japanese/English boarding high school, is is seeking a Full Time ESL/ENL teacher. Preferred candidates should have or be working toward a degree in TESOL education, and both actual and virtual classroom teaching experience. Duties include full-time teaching during the day, as well as occasional evening/weekend obligations. The post commences on September 01, 2020.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHER (Part-Time )

POSITION:  PART-TIME PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHER

Candidate will teach high school physical education classes.  The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to create a supportive instructional learning environment. Teach one period per day.  Total of two to four classes per week.  A coaching position may be available for successful candidate.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Candidate is required to have New York State Physical Education Certification or experience in a related field for at least three years.  Candidate must exhibit effective communication skills in English.
