Keio Academy of New York invites applications from university graduates or students soon to graduate with an interest in teaching their major discipline (Art, English, Japanese, Mathematics, Music, Science or Social Science) in this co-educational boarding school directly linked to Keio University in Tokyo. An interest in Japanese culture is expected, and a knowledge of Japanese language, though not required, will be an advantage. Readiness to participate in the Academy’s co-curricular program is essential. Living accommodation can be provided. The Internships are tenable for up to three years.

Applications are invited for several full-time teaching posts commencing March 16, 2020.
Candidates must possess native or near-native fluency in both English and Japanese and be capable of teaching 9th through 12th Grades.
Qualifications and experience relevant to the specialism are essential, among them:
Japanese language teaching experience at school or university level
A Master’s degree or higher in one of Japanese linguistics, applied linguistics, second foreign language acquisition, or Japanese history
Experience in developing curricula using innovative methods and/or community engagement
Knowledge of Japanese literature, theatre and culture
Experience of working with ACTFL guidelines
Knowledge of Japanese history or modern Asian history focused on WW1, WW2 and the modern era
The School has a boarding community of 300 students. All teachers are expected to contribute to the wider academic, boarding and co-curricular program. Accommodation may be provided.
